2016 is a long time from those formative years writing raps in a Winnipeg basement and after years of chasing a dream of making music a profession, this group of young emcees seem to be turning the corner on making their dream a reality.

Yes We Mystic celebrates the tragic, constantly examining the ways in which our senses inform our memories. Inspired by traditional folk and contemporary indie rock, Yes We Mystic delivers both quiet acoustic melodies and soaring, triumphant crescendos.
The premise of Adam Hanney's debut LP 12/12 is simple: One song, each month, for one year. It was an exercise in songwriting that turned into a 3 year process of writing, recording, and learning. Since it's simple inception at the beginning of 2012, the album has been put through it's paces time and time again.
Attica Riots is a musical breath of fresh air. Melodies and words you soak up after a single listen, played, live right before your eyes. The bands' sense of humour shines in the way they have crowds chanting dark, often morbid lyrics while dancing and flashing smiles.
Jason and Tom Petric have been entertaining audiences since they were young teenagers, so it only makes sense that these brothers from Transcona, Manitoba have come together to form the band Petric. Their fresh look and sound has been electrifying clubs and venues all across Canada, while their craft as songwriters and recording artists has been turning just as many heads.
There is no denying that an artist is a reflection of their environment, and the harsh beauty of rural Manitoba is at the heart of Jess Reimer's work.
Singer/songwriter Kayla Luky lives in Grandview, Manitoba, a small farming community nestled between the Riding and Duck Mountains. This unique setting gives her country sound absolute authenticity. Satiated with small town stories, chock-full of well-crafted country, if you're hankering for some home cooking, Kayla Luky's latest release, The Time it Takes, will satisfy your hometown appetite.
Twenty-seven years. Four bandmates. Two brothers. One album. Let It Lie, the 2015 JUNO Award-nominated debut release from Canadian roots-rockers the Bros. Landreth, is proof that there's strength in numbers. At first listen, you might call it Americana. Dig deeper, though, and you'll hear the nuances that separate The Bros.
Folk powerhouse pair The Small Glories are Cara Luft and JD Edwards, a dynamic new duo planted on the Canadian Prairies. At first glance few would peg them for a highly creative musical partnership. Yet these two veteran singer/songwriters have teamed up and are already building a buzz around their tight harmonies, authenticity and visceral performances.
Grant Davidson - Guitar, Vocals Julie Penner - Violin Jason Tait - Drums Slow Leaves is the recording name of Winnipeg's Grant Davidson. He has garnered a reputation as much for his honest lyrics and stirring voice as his intimate stage performances and confessional storytelling.
Rayannah's singular voice rises in layers, creating music from scratch. Running vocals through loop pedals, the bilingual artist bends noise into music and draws listeners into her world. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Rayannah has taken her pedals across Canada, to California for the Culture Collide festival, and to Lille and Paris for her European debut.
From driving rhythms and soaring melodies, to brooding synths and dreamy vocal breaks, The Mariachi Ghost fuses traditional Mexican song, progressive rock, and a flair for the dramatic, to ignite the world of their namesake's tenuous existence.

Both gritty and pretty at once - their homebrew take on folk, on blues, rock or anything they turn their hands to can't be said to be anything but their own. Sometimes it's as simple as three sweet harmonies, or a single harmonica holding the whole room at attention.
Hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Indicator Indicator is synth-streaked indie pop with a beating heart: colourful, enigmatic and passionate. The band spent the fall of 2013 touring the US to support their Western Canadian Music Award-nominated debut EP, and will be hitting the road again in fall 2014.
Ian La Rue, veteran of the fluid and eternally well-regarded Winnipeg music scene, has consistently represented the twinned principles of longevity and change. La Rue is launching the next chapter with his band, Heartbeat City, and their debut full-length, Thunder Amongst Us. The 10-song collection of indie-folk-rock tunes perfectly showcase La Rue's personal lyrics and infectious melodies.
Sc Mira is a five-piece Canadian band that seamlessly combines heavy folk with alt-rock. Their upcoming debut EP, Waiting Room Baby, showcases simple but savory instrumentation framing and keeping focus on front-woman Sc's voice and poetry.
In just one year, Dylan, Roman, and Liam of The Middle Coast logged over 700 hours in a van, traveled over 70 000 kms, and played 150 shows. The countless 'van hours' have made them great friends, and their heavy touring schedule has made them better musicians.
Del Barber grew up in the Canadian Prairies, and the landscape is as much a part of him as the people he has met along the way. From the fertile Red River Valley to the pastures of the west, straight into the factory floors and slaughter houses of the city, Barber's fourth album, Prairieography, is born out of a love for his home, its people and their stories.
Red Moon Road is one of Canada's most energetic and endearing folk trios, with masterful story telling, immaculate songwriting, haunting three part harmonies. A lush and lively take on modern roots centred around Sheena Rattai's unmistakable vocal virtuosity - raw and soulful - and flanked by two Daniels (Péloquin-Hopfner and Jordan) in a captivating network of ingenious and unique instrumental interplay.
The wildly isolated nature of Manitoba, inspired Keri and Devin Latimer's latest musical project, Leaf Rapids. The lyrical themes explore the inner workings of people left too long inside their cabins in the dead of winter, and where spring explodes.
