Four Four Films offers services in English and French and we also have a proficiency in working in Michif French. As an indigenous owned company, we take great pride in sharing the stories from the indigenous people of Canada.
In addition to working on large scale TV productions, we’ve worked with many small and medium sized businesses and it is our goal to provide video production services at an affordable rate!
While 4/4 Films is owned and operated by filmmaker Chris Gaudry, there’s not one video on this website that was a solo effort. It’s therefore important to recognize the countless clients, writers, and crew who were instrumental in the success of these projects.
Chris Gaudry
BIO
Chris Gaudry (he/him) is a Métis director, writer, and producer from Winnipeg, Canada. His career in television and media production wasn’t the result of a meticulously crafted plan, but rather a relentless pursuit of his passions. Over the past decade, Gaudry has directed and written for numerous television series while also spearheading projects through his production company, 4/4 Films.
In 2017, Gaudry co-directed Au Pays des Michif, a French-language television series for Bell Quebec’s Canal D. The show delved into the cultural heritage of the Métis community in St. Laurent, Manitoba—one of the most vibrant Métis communities, where traditional practices remain woven into daily life. Through both French and Michif languages, the series explored core themes such as environmental sustainability, hunting and harvesting, language preservation, and the balance between tradition and modernization. By showcasing these topics from a Métis perspective, Gaudry reinforced the vital role Indigenous voices play in shaping the future.
This project laid the foundation for Gaudry’s commitment to impactful storytelling. In 2019, Au Pays des Michif was acquired by Canada’s Indigenous broadcaster, APTN, and rebranded as Michif Country, transitioning to English and Michif. Gaudry has since written and directed four seasons of the series and is currently in production on its fifth.
In 2023, he was tapped by Wookey Films to direct and write for Manaachihtow (a Michif word meaning “rescued” or “saved”), a 26-episode youth-focused series currently airing on Radio-Canada (ICI TÉLÉ). The show follows the adventures of a wildlife rescue organization dedicated to rehabilitating and releasing animals back into their natural habitats.
In the summer of 2024, Gaudry participated in the ReelWorld Film Festival in Toronto, where his short film L’Appel Du Vide was screened for both live and virtual audiences.
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, one of Gaudry’s first major projects was directing a cross-country production for Indigenous Day Live. This ambitious shoot took him and a small crew from the ancestral lands of the Wolastoqiyik people in New Brunswick to the traditional harvesting waters of the St’át’imc people in Lillooet, British Columbia. The vignettes aired on APTN as part of the 2022 IDL celebrations.
Since 2021, Gaudry has also contributed to the French-language environmental TV series La Terre En Nous, directing episodes in seasons two and three, and currently finalizing five episodes for season four. This documentary series, which highlights environmental solutions through an Indigenous lens, aligns deeply with his passion for storytelling that drives awareness and change.
In collaboration with Dr. Ian Mauro of the University of Winnipeg’s Prairie Climate Center, Gaudry worked on a series of short films focused on Métis knowledge and climate change. These films explored themes such as Métis perspectives on conservation, climate warming’s impact on commercial fishing in St. Laurent, and the intersection of traditional knowledge and environmental science. One of the films he directed was showcased at the Skoden Indigenous Film Festival in 2024.
Beyond television, Gaudry is the founder of 4/4 Films (Four Four Films), a boutique video production company based in Winnipeg. This independent venture has enabled him to explore diverse creative formats, including music videos, short-form storytelling, commercials, and experimental art projects. The flexibility of working across different mediums has allowed him to continually push creative boundaries while staying true to his core mission: inspiring audiences and building a body of work that resonates.
